Other puzzles may be published: these puzzles will tend to have a wordplay theme, which will become apparent when the puzzle is completed. The title may be a clue for one of themers, or it may be an additional themer in and of itself. These puzzles will be labelled as 'Themed'.
CANADIAN WORDSEARCH PUZZLES
These puzzles double as a form of word-search: in each, the name of a Canadian city will emerge - built into the grid! To accomodate the new crossword medium, the typical wordsearch rules have been changed a little:
1) the name can be written forward or backward, and placed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally;
2) the name is written in a straight line, continuing over black blocks in its way, except
3) if the name reaches the edges of the grid, it will continue at a ninety degree angle from the original direction, forming an L shape.
As a helpful reminder, please find below a list of Canadian
capitals:
NEIGHBOURHOOD PUZZLES
A Neighbourhood puzzle is about as local as you can get: plucked straight from the street grid, the crossword recreates an intersection from the city named in the title! To keep it fair, this will only rely on streets whose names are knowable and clueable outside of their urban context.
